Trypogeus cabigasi VIVES, 2005 was first described by Eduard Vives in his paper Notes on Lepturinae (XI). Four New Species of Lepturinae from South East Asia (Col. Cerambycidae). It was one of two Philippine Lepturinae that was featured as new.
The lepturine beetle is about 15mm long and like the species featured in the previous post, only a single specimen, this time a male, is so far known. Found in the higher elevations of Bukidnon in Mindanao, this also marks the first time that the genus is recorded in the country. As what I have mentioned in this post, there are still many new discoveries awaiting the persistent collector.
