An aberrant female of Cyclommatus zuberi

A new downloadable ebook. Check it out!

Cyclommatus zuberiAberrant forms of Coleoptera are always intriguing and quite rare but in my collection, I have one female of Cyclommatus zuberi WATERHOUSE 1841 which was collected in Mindanao in 2001. It’s not as spectacular with other forms but in this specimen, the left part of its prothorax is deformed.

Could this have been a developing gynandromorph judging from the way this deformed part is shaped that seem to echo the structure in males?
